Look no farther, it’s coming to Sylvan Oaks Library - “Writing with Gusto in the Odd-Numbered Year.” Ingrid Lundquist of The Book-In-Hand Roadshow will present a series of writing workshops for adults aged 55+ years on Tuesday mornings (February 21 & 28, March 7) from 10am-12noon.

You’ll learn how to capitalize on what you already know, overcome the anxiety of thinking you don’t have enough to say, and tap into your own endless source of creativity. After three mornings of discovery, you’ll walk away with effective (and portable) tools that can be applied to any writing style.

Noel Neuburger

Editorial and commercial photographer Noel Neuburger has been shooting people and events the business and social arena of the greater Sacramento area for more than 20 years. A one-time editor of the Sacramento News & Review weekly newspaper, he is a talented photo journalist whose work has graced the covers and feature stories of Comstock’s Magazine and the Sacramento Business Journal. With two kids away in college, Noel lives with his wife in Carmichael, CA and can often be found camera-in-hand strolling along the American River. His photographs have been in group and solo shows, as well as on-line magazines

Debra Payne

Debra Payne built a career working in both sides of program funding for more than twenty years; first in program development / implementation and then in administering funds for non-profit community based agencies for First 5 Sacramento. She earned her Master's in Social Work and a Career Development Certificate from California State University Sacramento in 1997 and 1998, respectively. 

Debra has reviewed more proposals and resumes, and developed more grant applications than any one person should be required to do in a lifetime. She knows how to get to the heart of the information and present it in an understandable and professional manner. She is an expert at gardening in her mid-town Sacramento, CA home and enjoys spoiling her two grandsons.

Ingrid Lundquist is a Certified Special Event Professional, amateur photographer, and author. Her two latest books, Dictionary of Publishing Terms: What Every Writer Needs to Know, and Results-Driven Event Planning: Using Marketing Tools to Boost Your Bottom Line, have won a total of 11 awards, including the Esprit Award for Best Industry Contribution, the highest international award given in the event industry.

In 2010 she founded The Book-In-Hand Roadshow which offers workshops led by subject matter experts on topics of interest to writers such as cover design, blogging, travel writing, publicity, photography, and self-publishing. Ingrid writes for California Meetings + Events Magazine.

You know Ingrid Lundquist as the founder of The Book-In-Hand Roadshow. She is also a street photographer who's work captures a snippet of information that begs the viewer to finish the story.

The last week in June she'll join "Shootapalooza," an ad hoc group of photographers who spend a week in a different city each year. They'll be in Johnson City this year celebrating the week-long the 5th Anniversary of a.smith gallery. Two of Ingrid's photos "Bienvenidos" and "Sea-Saw" will be featured in a photography show called H2O at East Main Grill, Reception, Saturday, June 27, 7pm.

Her black and white photo "Morning Ritual," will be enlarged for the wheat paste project... images plastered to the side of a building. Workshop participants will be wheat-pasting on buildings Friday and Saturday, June 26 & 27. Drive around town - you'll be sure to see them at work.

Jack L. Parker is an avid fly fisher who spends most of his time writing travel adventure novels including Tibetan Adventure and Patagonian Adventure.

His latest novel, The Valley of Tranquility, was released in September 2014 and earned him an interview with Judyth Piazza on “The American Perspective,” a national talk radio program. He’ll discuss why it’s important for authors to speak about their work, and how interviews on TV, local and national talk radio raise author visibility and impact book sales.
